Guidry News
Service has two publications that cover public meetings and special events
in Harris, Galveston and Jefferson counties: The
Online News Station and Gulf Coast E-news.
The Online News Station at
www.GuidryNews.com is our website. It is supported by advertising.
We document public meetings and special events with photos, video, audio and
text.
We maintain special pages for news releases and photos provided by school districts and colleges
in our Education section which is steadily increasing in readership
and submission of information by institutions of education and instruction.
GNS Features pages, Business, Faith & Values and
Entertainment offer current, compelling reports on issues and events
that enrich our readers' experience. Entertaining and informative
special columns Victor Lang Remembers and Brenda's
Garden keep a loyal and growing audience coming back for more.
Our Weather and
Obituaries pages are very popular with our local and regional audience
with those seeking immediate, time sensitive information. Those
wishing to exchange ideas and opinions read and contribute to our Forum
page.
We currently average over 101,000 hits per day on weekdays. During special events
such as elections our hits approach 250,000 per day. Visitors to The Online
News Station include the general public as well as elected officials,
administrators, educators, entrepreneurs, arts and non-profits and other
media outlets.
If you explore The Online News Station you'll have a good idea
of our appeal to a wide audience across the Texas-Louisiana Gulf Coast and
to those throughout the world who are interested in issues and happenings in
our region. It is often said by our audience that GNS reports are
"just like being there".
Gulf
Coast E-news is a daily newsletter providing comprehensive coverage
of posted public meetings. We report the agenda: what passes, fails or is
tabled. In the beginning, in 1996, our daily publication was a newsletter
called Galveston Fax, which was distributed solely by fax.
Gulf Coast E-news is distributed by email
at 4 p.m. each business weekday.
Subscriptions are $300 per year. Our
subscribers include media outlets, public officials, business
administrators, lawyers, engineers, developers and others who need to know
more information than is provided by the traditional media.
