The College of the Mainland Board of Trustees on Monday voted unanimously to approve a 20 percent homestead exemption on property taxes paid to the college. (Correct)

The college board voted unanimously to approve a $24,000 property tax exemption for seniors and the disabled, as well as a tax freeze for those over 65. All four property tax exemptions were put into effect indefinitely.

The college board voted unanimously to cancel elections for two trustee positions that were to be held on May 9. Ralph Holm and Nick Stepchinski were unopposed for re-election to their seats.

The college board voted unanimously to approve $50,950 for a proposal from AIA & Associates Architectural Services for work on the college's restrooms and parking lots.

The college board voted unanimously to accept a $41,000 donation from Shell for software and scholarships at the Center for the Advancement of Process Technology.

During the meeting the college was presented with a $1,000 from Valero check toward equipment for the college's physical fitness and wellness center.

The college board took no action on legal issues discussed in executive session.

The college board voted unanimously to schedule April 20 as the next monthly board meeting.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present.
