Nature Tourism Council Annual Meeting Set for July 20
Miles Phillips to Discuss Nature Tourism Development
GALVESTON ISLAND, Texas – The Galveston Island Nature Tourism Council board of directors will hold its annual meeting Tuesday, July 20, at 5:30 p.m. at the Galveston Country Club, 14228 Stewart Road.
Miles Phillips, state leader of TexasA & MUniversity’s Nature Tourism Program, will make a presentation on practical applications for nature tourism as a tool to improve quality of life through economic gain and conservation.
Contributors to the council’s mission will be recognized for exceptional community service and new board members will be elected.
The meeting is open to GINTC members and invited guests. Memberships will be available at the door for nonmembers. Dress is “Island Casual.”
GINTC supports and develops nature-based educational and recreational activities, and promotes the value of area natural habitats and resources. The organization presents several events each year, including FeatherFest and Breakfast with the Sandhill Cranes, and plays an active role on the City of Galveston’s East End Lagoon development committee.
