Alvin Community College hosts Veterans Day event

The Alvin Community College Student Veterans Association and Student Activities plan to honor those who have served their country during a ceremony on Veterans Day, November 11.

The event is open to the public and organizers are hoping veterans, their family members and military personnel on active duty will participate.

“We want to show the community that Alvin Community College as a whole recognizes that veterans are an integral part of our society,” said John Joe Camacho, ACC student and president of the Student Veterans Association.

A wreath will be placed at the memorial wall between Buildings A & B. Camacho will speak during the event to welcome the veterans in attendance and thank them for their service.

The Alvin Community College choir also will perform “God Bless America” during the ceremony.

The event is open to the public.
