INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN PUBLIC WORKSHOP AND NEPA SCOPING MEETING FOR IDENTIFICATION OF STORM DAMAGE REDUCTION, ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION, AND FLOOD RISK MANAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN ORANGE, JEFFERSON, CHAMBERS, HARRIS, GALVESTON, BRAZORIA COUNTIES
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District and the Texas General Land Office along with their Regional County partners, are seeking individuals, groups or organizations interested in participating in public workshops for the purpose of gathering ideas for hurricane / tropical storm damage reduction, flood risk management, and ecosystem restoration in Orange, Jefferson, Chambers, Galveston, Harris, and Brazoria Counties. This outreach effort is being conducted in conjunction with the Sabine Pass to Galveston Bay, Texas Study. The meeting will also serve as a scoping meeting for the purposes of identifying significant issues to be addressed in accordance with requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
The workshops will take place at the following locations:
February 28, 6:30 to 8:30 PM - Seabrook Community House, 1210 Anders Ave, Seabrook, TX
February 29, 6:30 to 8:30 PM - Jefferson County Agri-Life Auditorium, 1225 Pearl Street, Beaumont, TX (Enter on Franklin St., north side of bldg.)
March 6, 6:30 to 8:30 PM - Freeport Riverplace, 420 N. Brazosport Blvd., Freeport, TX
March 7, 6:30 to 8:30 PM - Galveston County Courthouse, 722 Moody Ave., Galveston, TX
