George Young for 10th District Court Campaign

Young Responds to Neves Allegations

George Young never saw it coming. His experiences that have lead him to a successful campaign landed him in a primary run-off with opponent, Kerry Neves for the 10th Judicial bench in Galveston County.  But when hit by Neves half-truth smear campaign, he was stunned.

"I never dreamed a candidate running for a position that requires truth and justice would stoop so low as to manipulate the facts. "But", lamented Young, "my opponent knows he cannot run a campaign on qualifications.  I am the only one qualified for the position of Judge for the 10th district"

Since the run-off began, Neves has run a smear campaign that attacks Young's ethics and integrity. While based on half-truths and innuendo, allegations against the Vietnam Combat veteran reflect a willingness by Neves to avoid running a campaign that is based on qualifications and issues.

Neves does not have the experience or qualifications necessary to sit in judgement of a court that is primarily criminal. Neves has only 46 cases he has actually tried. Out of those 46, the substance of his work was to stand next to the defendant when they pled guilty. He was retained for only 1 criminal case of Voter Fraud where he plea bargained for probation in a Voter Fraud case.

According to George Young, "Often, the very best defense against any allegation is an immediate and strong response. I did the research and found truth, Neves is just plain lying to the voters."
