Fort Bend County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to authorize the issuance of limited contract tax and subordinate lien toll road revenue bonds by the Fort Bend Grand Parkway Toll Road Authority for development of a portion of the Grand Parkway.
The commissioners court also approved a joint project agreement for the project, which would be “Segment D” of the Grand Parkway. The Fort Bend County portion of the segment will take the roadway from United States Highway 59 to FM 1093, also known as the Westpark Tollway.
An estimated $179,825,000 in bonds will be issued for the project.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to reappoint Glen R. Gill and Andre D. McDonald to the Fort Bend County Levee Improvement District No. 2 Board of Directors.
The commissioners court pulled from the agenda an advanced funding agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for the State Highway 36 Big Creek Detention Pond Project.
The detention pond is required for the state’s future project to expand State Highway 36. Through the agreement, federal funds will pay for $593,750 and state funds $22,265 of the total cost for purchasing right of way property for the project. The county’s local share will be $161,537.
A request by Douglas Koger on behalf of MCF Texas, LLC, to waive penalty, interest, and collection fees totaling $5,015.83 on property taxes for Tax Year 1996 was pulled from the agenda. Therefore, no action was taken on the item.
