by Garrett Bryce
Wednesday, August 01, 2012

Seabrook City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve $15,000 per year for two years in support of the Art Consortium of the Texas Gulf Coast for a new art event in Seabrook.

The Seabrook Festival of the Arts will take place this year on October 26-27.   During the meeting, Rebecca Collins, president of the consortium’s event, gave a presentation on the festival and asked the city council to provide support.

The city council voted unanimously to approve the rental of a booth and staffing at the Texas Municipal League annual conference, which will take place in November in Grapevine, Texas.

The city will send four representatives to staff the booth at the event.

The city council also received an update from Michelle Quist with the Bay Area Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau regarding the future direction of the bureau.

No other action items were on the agenda.  All members were present.  Agenda
