Houston – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a Public Meeting regarding the proposed improvements to BS 288B, from Henderson Road to Wilkins Street in Angleton, Texas.

The purpose of the meeting is to present the proposed roadway improvements and to gather public input. The purpose of the proposed project is to increase safety and relieve congestion along BS 288B through access management. The proposed design would construct a 14-foot wide raised median between Henderson Road and Wilkins Street. The existing continuous left turn lane would be replaced with a raised median and dedicated left turn bays at select intersections.

Additionally, existing BS 288B would be widened by approximately 5 feet from Lorraine Drive to approximately 400 feet north of Lorraine Drive to extend a merging lane for northbound traffic. All work would be conducted within the existing right-of-way. The speed limit would remain as posted.

Those interested in attending the public meeting who have special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact the TxDOT Houston District Public Information Office at 713-802-5072, at least two days prior to the meeting. Since the public meeting will be conducted in English, any requests for language interpreters or other special communication needs should also be made at least two days prior to the public meeting.  TxDOT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs.

Written comments relative to the proposed project may be presented at the meeting or submitted to the Director of Project Development, Texas Department of Transportation, P.O.
