Fort Bend County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to cease the creation of county assistance districts in the extraterritorial jurisdictions of the City of Missouri City, City of Stafford and the City of Sugar Land in the Fifth Street area.
The commissioners court voted to adopt local option property tax exemptions for the 2012 tax year.
The exemptions include a homestead exemption of $5,000 or 20 percent, whichever is greater, and a $100,000 exemption for those over the age of 65 or disabled.
The commissioners court voted to establish the regular schedule of commissioners court meetings for FY2013. The commissioners court will continue to meet every Tuesday, except the third and fifth Tuesday of each month, at 1 p.m.
The commissioners court voted to change the meeting schedules of the commissioners court for November and December to meet the first three Tuesdays of the month, and for January to meet the second, third and fifth Tuesday.
The commissioners court voted to modify an interagency agreement with the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County for the Job Access Reverse Commute and New Freedom Project.
The amendment will add $264,504 in federal Job Access Reverse Commute funds with a local match of $162,115.
