Below are excerpts from Feldman’s narrative and links to the interview in three video segments.

Post-Sandy LI - Lessons from Galveston

Jim Guidry of Guidry News Service, Houston, TX, talks about Galveston TX, which looks remarkably like Long Beach NY on a map.

How that barrier island prepared, experienced and recovered from the hurricane, storm surge and aftermath of a devastating "storm of the century."

After Hurricane Ike, some 5 years ago, the barrier island of Galveston struggled to rebuild with their own Community Development Block Grants.

Journalist Jim Guidry talks about how that city coped with both the storm's aftermath and government dysfunction

After Hurricane Ike, Galveston, Texas' population decreased, its middle class shrank, and its landscape became dominated by expensive homes that meet "beefed up" hurricane standards.

Journalist Jim Guidry, of Houston's Guidry News Service explains, in this final part of a 3 part series.
