Gulf Coast Weather
by John David Suayan
Monday, April 28, 2014

The Upper Texas Gulf Coast will get a preview of summer today as temperatures are projected to reach the low 90s.

The Houston/Galveston office of the National Weather Service reports that Fort Bend and Harris counties will have a high of 90, with partly cloudy skies and a slight chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms.

Brazoria, Galveston and Jefferson counties are anticipated to have slightly cooler temperatures, but still will experience balmy weather and a 20 percent chance of rain, with highs ranging from the mid to upper 80s.

A cool front Tuesday will give residents a brief respite from the warm weather, bringing forth lows in the mid to upper 50s and highs in the upper 70s for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The National Weather Service reports that small craft advisories may also be required in the wake of the front with moderate northerly winds in its wake.

Temperatures for the weekend are expected to rise back to the 80s, with Saturday showing promise for mostly sunny conditions throughout the area.
