Port of Orange Board of Commissioners

The Port of Orange Board of Commissioners on Monday voted unanimously to reappoint Jerry Hughes as president of the board.

The board also re-elected Jimmy Smith as vice president, Keith Wallace as secretary and Barbara Winfree as treasurer.

The board voted unanimously to approve the port's annual contribution rate for the Texas County and District Retirement System for 2017. The board approved a contribution rate of 5.09 percent, a reduction from the previous rate of 6.06 percent.

The board voted unanimously to award a $266,750 contract to CFG for painting and repair of the water tower.

The board voted unanimously to move forward with engineering for the reconstruction of the Alabama Street entrance road into the port.

The board took no action on items discussed in closed session.

During the meeting, Smith and Winfree took their oath of office for another term on the board. Both Smith and Winfree were unopposed for re-election.
