Montgomery County Choral Society Presents ‘A Disney Spectacular, Part 2’
Singalong, costume parade and former Disney performers bring magic to annual event
CONROE, Texas – The Montgomery County Choral Society will kick off its 2016-2017 season on Tuesday, Sept. 27, with A Disney Spectacular, Part 2 headlining its ever-popular, annual Dinner/Showtime to be held at First United Methodist Church, 4308 W Davis St., Conroe.
“We are encouraging all children and former children (adults), to come dressed as their favorite Disney character,” Ann Lee, artistic director of the Choral Society, said. “We’ll have a parade of the children in their costumes and surprises for them from Disney World, as well as a Disney singalong for all.”
Pianist Joseph Martin and vocalist Sue Martin, former Disney performers in their own right, headline the evening in which the 70-member Choral Society will present “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast, “God Help the Outcasts” from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from The Lion King, “Dig a Little Deeper” from The Princess and the Frog, and a newer song, “The Glow.” First performed by the World of Color Honor Choir at Disney’s California Adventure Park, “The Glow” is a newly released single from the "Disney Princess: Fairy Tale Songs" CD. In addition, individual members of the choir will offer a variety of Disney songs throughout the concert.
This concert is supported by funds from the City of Conroe Commission on Arts and Culture and ExxonMobil.
Individual concert tickets, which include a meal of brisket, smoked turkey and sides, plus dessert, or a child-friendly menu of chicken fingers, corn on the cob, and mac and cheese, served by Darrel’s Catering, are $25 for adults, $20 for students (13-18) and $15 for children (3-12). Children 2 and under are admitted free. Tickets are available at the door or from any Montgomery County Choral Society member.
