WALKS DOWN THE AISLE OF THE LUTCHER THEATER FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY!

ORANGE, Texas - Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' MAMMA MIA!, the smash hit musical based on the songs of ABBA, returns to the Lutcher Theater for the Performing Arts, in October 2016 as a part of its final farewell tour. One performance is scheduled for Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at the Lutcher before the company travels nationwide with the tour. Tickets ranging from $40-$70 are available at Lutcher.org or by calling the Lutcher Theater Box Office at 409-886-5535.

The producers, directors, choreographers, cast and crew of this National Tour will be in Orange, Texas at the Lutcher Theater for nine days to rehearse the show. Three hotels will host the cast, crew and creatives staying with them for that rehearsal period. The company will be dining in local restaurants and shopping in local retail businesses.

Some of the cast and crew have visited the Lutcher Theater before with other productions and are looking forward to their return, but many of the creatives will be visiting Orange for the first time. The "creatives" (directors, choreographers and designers) have worked on some of the biggest shows on Broadway and on the road. The Lutcher staff is looking forward to sharing Southern "Orange" hospitality with the company and would love to see other shows choose Orange as their rehearsal destination in the future.

Lutcher Theater Managing Director Jim Clark states, "The producers of Work Light Productions, are old friends of mine and the Lutcher Theater, and I'm excited to welcome them to Orange. Steve and Nancy Gabriel are the producers and we've worked with them for over 25 years. Steve visited the Lutcher almost 25 years ago, and it'll be his first time back since then. We've presented the show here in the past, but it'll be the first time for this company to mount their tour at the Lutcher."

MAMMA MIA! is one of the most successful musicals of all time, the eighth longest running show in Broadway history and one of only five musicals to have run for more than ten years on Broadway. The West End production is now in its eighteenth year. To date, MAMMA MIA! has been seen by over 60 million people worldwide in 50 productions in 16 different languages.

Inspired by the storytelling magic of ABBA's songs from "Dancing Queen" and "S.O.S." to "Money, Money, Money" and "Take a Chance on Me," MAMMA MIA! is a celebration of mothers and daughters, old friends and new family found.

MAMMA MIA! is produced by Work Light Productions, whose other touring productions include Cinderella, RENT 20th Anniversary Tour, Motown, Irving Berlin's White Christmas, and Vocalosity.

The original production of MAMMA MIA! was produced by Judy Craymer, Richard East and Björn Ulvaeus for Littlestar in association with Universal, the creative team responsible for bringing MAMMA MIA! to theatrical life includes some of the most gifted and celebrated talents of musical theatre and opera. With music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, MAMMA MIA! is written by Catherine Johnson and directed by Phyllida Lloyd. MAMMA MIA! has choreography by Anthony Van Laast, production design by Mark Thompson, lighting design by Howard Harrison, sound design by Andrew Bruce and Bobby Aitken, and musical supervision, additional material and arrangements by Martin Koch.
