The Port of Beaumont Board of Commissioners today voted unanimously to award a $610,999 contract to EMCO Wheaton for the 2300 Manifold Loading Arms Project.

The board voted to approve a change order to the contract for the loading arms project to increase the contract by $25,105 for shipping costs related to the project. The change order brings the contract total to $638,104, according to Port Director Chris Fisher. Listen (5:19)

The board voted to approve a change order to the Orange County Access Road/Rail Overpass Project. The change order will resolve an issue with a drain line in conflict with the project, and will increase the project cost by $20,221.

The contract now totals $9,694,912.

The board voted to amend the port’s 2016-2017 Capital Program to include additional projects.

“One project is the Old Highway 90 right turn lane project,” Fisher said. “This is a project we are in the process of working on in conjunction with TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation).”

That project is estimated to total $700,000. The port is also adding an $800,000 project for improvements to the Harbor Island sheds.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
