Beaumont City Council today voted unanimously to approve a change order to a contract with LD Construction for the Avenue A Asphalt Rehabilitation Project, and to authorize a final payment to the company.
The change order will increase the contract amount by $66,374, for a final contract amount of $709,157. The final payment for the project totals $164,017.
The city council voted to award a contract to Ken Wheel, Inc., doing business as Wheeler Commercial of Beaumont, for real estate brokerage services.
“The State of Texas recently allowed cities to select a licenses Texas Real Estate Broker to list and sell city-owned properties,” City Manager Kyle Hayes said. “City staff will select the properties that will be listed by the broker.”
The contract is for one year, with an option to renew for a maximum of three renewals of one year each.
The city council voted to approve an agreement with Lamar University for video production services.
Under the agreement, the city will pay the university $12,135 for video series, including the recording of city council meetings for broadcast over the government access channel.
