The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County Board of Directors today voted unanimously to re-elect Carrin Patman as chair of the board.

Jim Robinson was re-elected as first vice president, Mayor Cindy Siegel was named second vice president and Troi Taylor was named secretary of the board.

Board members were also named to the board's standing committees. Listen (1:59)

The board voted unanimously to approve a new mission statement for METRO.

The new mission statement says “METRO's mission is to provide safe, clean, reliable, accessible and friendly transportation services to our region.” Listen (4:13)

The board deferred action regarding a new vision statement until a future meeting.

The board voted unanimously to adopt a resolution and dismissal of all claims in the matter of Debbie Ware vs. Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County. The item was discussed in closed session.

The board voted unanimously to renew all-risk property insurance with FM Global and a windstorm deductible buy-down policy with Lloyds of London Syndicate.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote of the members present during the vote. Board Member Don Elder was absent and Board Member Lex Frieden attended via video conference. Agenda
