Science Fair at UH Inspires Students to Pursue Careers in STEM
More Than 1,000 Students Put Projects on Display Feb 25

HOUSTON – More than 1,000 middle and high school students from Southeast Texas will showcase their science, engineering, technology and math (STEM) projects at the 58th Annual Science Engineering Fair of Houston (SEFH) hosted by the University of Houston at the Athletic & Alumni Center, Saturday, Feb. 25.

  • Projects are based on 18 science fair categories, ranging from rocketry found in aerospace and assistance from mechanical devices in robotics to new findings in medicine and health.
  • The Science Engineering Fair of Houston (SEFH), sponsored by Chevron, is the one of the largest events of its kind in the country.
  • Winners will qualify for the Texas State Engineering Science Fair next month in San Antonio. Grand award winners are eligible for the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles in May.

Fair- 9 a.m.– 5:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 25

Awards Ceremony- 6:30-9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 28

Science Fair: UH Athletics & Alumni Center (3204 Cullen Blvd.)

Award Ceremony: Cullen Performance Hall (4300 University Dr.)
