Knights of Momus Grand Night Parade
photos by Robert Mihovil
Sunday, February 26, 2017

Galveston photographer and GNS contributor has provided these images and details of the 2.2 mile Knights of Momus Grand Night Parade enjoyed by revelers on Saturday evening.
The weather was perfect Saturday night for a grand parade.  It was 62 degrees with clear skies. Thousands of revelers lined the seawall, 25th Streets and the Strand to catch beads and watch the night parade as usual.

New this year, there seemed to be lots of dancers and band members wearing LED lights on their costumes as well as illuminating their instruments with glowing green and purple lights.

The Mardi Gras Celebration and parade went without the Mummers, however they sure were missed. The parade actually seemed a little shorter without their show stopping performances.
