The Port of Beaumont Board of Commissioners today voted unanimously to award a contract to BBVA Compass Bank for bank depository services.
The port’s current contract expires March 1. The contract with BBVA Compass Bank is for a three year term with two years of optional extensions.
The board voted to order the unopposed status of commissioner candidates for Ward 4 and an At-Large position on the board, and to cancel the May 6 election for both positions.
Incumbent Georgine Guillory filed for re-election to Ward 4, while incumbent Louis Broussard filed for the At-Large position he currently holds. Both Guillory and Broussard will be sworn in for new terms in office after the May election takes place.
The board voted to terminate a joint election services agreement with Jefferson County, the City of Beaumont and other governmental entities for the May 6 election. The agreement was terminated as the port has cancelled its election.
