Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to authorize the filing of an application for a State Land Use Lease through the Texas General Land Office for the sand source/borrow area for the McFaddin Beach Nourishment Project.

The county is proposing to nourish a 2-mile length of shoreline to restore the degraded dune ridge at McFaddin Beach, using sand material from a designated borrow source approximately 1.5 miles offshore of the McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge’s coastline.

The commissioners court voted to acknowledge the receipt of no bids for the sale of land located Viterbo Road, known as the Precinct No. 2 Rock Yard.

The commissioners court voted to approve the hiring of Kirk Dallas Frederick as a deputy constable with Constable Precinct No. 7.

The commissioners court voted to approve the resignation of Ralph Muzzillo as Jefferson County Emergency Services District No. 1 commissioner.
