Kemah City Council on Thursday voted unanimously to name Melissa Chilcote as city secretary, as discussed in closed session.

The city council voted unanimously to accept the resignation of Carolyn Anderson, who had served as city secretary.

The city council voted unanimously to order the cancellation of the May 6 election. Incumbent Mayor Carl Joiner and council members Wanda Zimmer and Robin Collins were unopposed for re-election.

The city council voted unanimously to appoint Kyle Burks as council representative to the Kemah Community Development Corporation.
The city council voted unanimously to reappoint Kelley Dawson, Dough Meisinger and Les Hart to the Kemah Community Development Corporation.

The city council voted 4-1, with Teresa Vazquez-Evans opposed, to appoint Jacob Bigger and Steve McGough to the Kemah Community Development Corporation.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a change to the staff organizational chart as discussed in closed session.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
