United Way of Beaumont & North Jefferson County to hold community-wide drive
JUST BECAUSE drive will aid with programs of 20 Southeast Texas non-profits
BEAUMONT, Texas - United Way of Beaumont & North Jefferson County (UWBNJC) will be accepting donations for a community-wide drive in Southeast Texas, from now through Friday, April 28, 2017. This drive will benefit UWBNJC’s 20 local partner agencies, and their various programming needs.
The drive has been coined a JUST BECAUSE drive, because of its unique timing. Community drives for items such as clothing, food, toys and school supplies are typically held during popular holiday seasons such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, and Back-To-School drives at the beginning of the school year. However, UWBNJC realizes that there are year-round community needs that need to be met, therefore this drive will take place during the months of March and April.
Items collected will benefit various programs of UWBNJC’s 20 local non-profit and charity organizations in the Southeast Texas area.
Donations will be accepted from now through Friday, April 28, 2017 at 5:00 p.m. UWBNJC and a team of volunteers will distribute donated items to its partner agencies at the beginning of May. Donations can be dropped off at the UWBNJC office, located inside the Foundation for Southeast Texas building in downtown Beaumont, at 700 North Street, Suite H, Beaumont, Texas 77701. Other drop-off locations around the Beaumont area will be announced soon.
