Pasadena City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve, on first reading, award of a $1,320,790 contract to Mar-Con Services, LLC for the Thornwood Drainage Improvements.
The city council voted 6-1-2, with Cary Bass abstaining and Sammy Casados and Cody Ray Wheeler opposed, to approve, on final reading, an ordinance extending contracts with Bass & Meineke No. 1, LLC, Autonation Ford Gulf Freeway and Monument Chevrolet for automotive repair parts and supplies.
Casados and Wheeler repeated concerns regarding the contract Bass & Meineke due to Council Member Cary Bass' employment at the company. Council Member Pat Van Houte stated her opposition to the Bass & Meineke contract extension, which is the final extension of the contract. However, she did not oppose the extension of the contracts with Autonation and with Monument Chevrolet.
The city council voted unanimously to approve, on first reading, the purchase of a Live Fire Shoot House from Range Systems, in the amount of $237,552.
The city council voted unanimously to approve, on first reading, the purchase of one Inferno HD77 Rear Mount Ladder Truck from Hall Buick-GMS, in the amount of $835,940.
The city council deferred action regarding a contract with Civil Concepts, Inc. for construction phase services for the Animal Adoption Center.
The city council deferred action regarding appointment of a chair and members to the Pasadena Second Century Corporation Board of Directors.
