Cancer Connect: Memorial Hermann Cancer Centers to Host Educational Event
HOUSTON – Memorial Hermann Cancer Centers, in collaboration with The Health Museum, invite you to attend Cancer Connect, a free event to educate you and your family on ways to prevent and detect cancer. Cancer Connect will take place at The Health Museum, located at 1515 Hermann Drive, on Tuesday, March 14, from 5-7 p.m.
In honor of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, this event will feature an educational panel, cancer resource fair and the unique opportunity to talk with affiliated physicians inside the museum’s new Body Worlds RX exhibit.
“Our medical staff in the city of Houston is world renowned, and this event is a wonderful opportunity for members of the public to learn first-hand from the medical professionals on the front lines every day,” said Dr. Melanie Johnson, president and CEO at The Health Museum. “As a proud member institution of the Texas Medical Center, we are pleased to partner with Memorial Hermann Cancer Centers to share this important information.”
Cancer Connect The event is free, but registration is required by visiting memorialhermann.org/cancer or calling 713-222-CARE. Refreshments will be served and parking is complimentary.
“Our hope is that guests will have a better understanding of individual risk factors, and ways to prevent, detect and treat cancer,” said Dr. Julie Rowe, medical oncologist with Memorial Hermann Cancer Center-Texas Medical Center and McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. “With the help of The Health Museum, the event can be educational and fun for the entire family.”
