The Texas City City Commission on Wednesday voted unanimously to approve an interlocal agreement with Galveston for an inter-city bus service between Galveston and Houston's METRO Bay Area Park and Ride, with an intermediate stop in Texas City.
Texas City, Galveston County and the City of Galveston have pledged $40,000 over a 2-year period to provide a local funding match for the service. The service will be provided through Galveston's Island Transit, and the stop in Texas City will be at the Food-Rite hub.
The city commission voted to reject a proposed increase by Centerpoint on natural gas rates.
