Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast region include “Moon Over Buffalo” in Texas City and “Grand Concourse” in Houston.
College of the Mainland Community Theatre will kick off its production of “Moon Over Buffalo” on Thursday at 8 p.m.
“In the madcap tradition of Hollywood’s screwball comedies, the hilarious Moon Over Buffalo centers on George and Charlotte Hay, fading stars of the 1950’s,” said a synopsis on the COM Community Theatre website.
Additional performances are on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The production continues through April 9.
Main Street Theater in Houston will host a preview performance of its production of “Grand Concourse” on Sunday at 3 p.m.
The show officially opens April 1 and will play through April 30.
The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will present “Scrap-Arts-Music” on Friday at 8 p.m.
The Alley Theatre in Houston continues its production of “An Act of God” this week.
Performances are on Tuesday and Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m. Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The show runs through April 16.
Island ETC, East-End Theatre Company in continues “Next to Normal” this week, with performances Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. The show runs through April 8.
Company OnStage in Houston continues its production of “Cinderella” this week, with performances on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The show runs through April 1.
Upcoming performances include “Dreamgirls”, presented by Theatre Under the Stars in Houston and opening April 4, and “Steel Magnolias”, presented by the Beaumont Community Players and opening April 7.
