The Netherlands Business Support Office-Texas (NBSO) and the Netherlands American Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday hosted a networking event aboard the historical Clipper 'Stad Amsterdam' in Galveston’s harbor.
The ship’s captain and NBSO-Texas representatives welcomed guests from the Houston-Galveston region aboard. The purpose for the gathering was to offer a relaxed setting in which to explore business and cultural opportunities between Dutch and U.S. entities.
The Clipper Stad Amsterdam is 76 metres long and carries 31 sails with a total area of 2,200 square metres. She has an authentic square rig, a pointed bow, combining history and nostalgia with modern features. She is registered under the Dutch flag as a passenger ship. Crew members offered tours of the ship.
During the evening special guests from the Netherlands, participants in a NBSO trade mission covering the logistics of plastic resins, were introduced.
The NBSO consists of a network of 19 offices located in 9 different countries.
Established by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) the goal of the NBSO's is to support Dutch companies in their mission to do business abroad.
The NBSO-Texas, located in Houston, was established in 2010.. Saskia Pardaans is the Chief Representative of the office and Mariella Priem is the Deputy Representative.
