Port Arthur, Texas - At approximately 4:40pm on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, the Port Arthur Police Department received a call of a possible robbery in progress and a man brandishing a handgun. The suspect was then seen leaving the complex in a vehicle and a description of the vehicle was given to officers.
A few moments later a call was received of a vehicle striking cars in the 1200 block of Williams Ave. The description fit that from the vehicle involved in the robbery. Officers were already in the area looking for the suspect, and arrived within a few seconds of the second call. Officers were directed by witnesses to a residence in the 1200 block of Williams Ave. with the front door standing open, and entered the home. Inside they determined the suspect had entered the home and assaulted an individual. The victim in the home received minor injuries. The suspect was taken into custody inside of the home. Officers also located a handgun in the suspect vehicle that was reported stolen.
The suspect was booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility for Aggravated Robbery, Burglary and Unlawful Possession of Firearm by a Felon. The victim in the robbery was not injured.
