THE GRAND 1894 OPERA HOUSE TO HOST THE GRAND KIDS FESTIVAL ON APRIL 1ST
(NO FOOLIN’) FROM 10AM TO 5PM

Free family oriented fun for all ages! Please note event location and street closures

GALVESTON, Texas – On Saturday, April 1st (no foolin’), The Grand 1894 Opera House celebrates The Grand Kids Festival on the island. Held in the heart of the Galveston Downtown Cultural Arts District, the festival stretches for three blocks along Postoffice Street. The Grand Kids Festival offers three outdoor stages, an indoor stage (at The Grand), a storytelling tent, over a dozen activity areas, over forty activity booths as well as food and beverage booths.

Designed to develop an arena for participation, the festival offers something for children of all ages and cultures. During this one-day event, approximately 5,000 festival attendees enjoy and participate in interactive arts and crafts in a variety of media, live entertainment by professional artists specializing in family-friendly productions as well as local children’s performing groups, interaction with live animals at the petting zoo and pony ride areas, and much more.

Beginning Friday, March 31st at 12 PM, Postoffice from 20th Street to 23rd Street as well as 21st Street and 22nd Street from Market to Church will be closed for coordinators to begin set-up.  The event will be open to the public, free of charge, from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday, April 1st

    • Postoffice from 20th Street to 23rd Street
    • 21st Street from Market to Church
    • 22nd Street from Market to Church
