FLASH FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 5:15pm FOR SOUTHEAST PORTIONS OF HOUSTON

The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for southeast portions of the City of Houston, including the Hobby Airport Area, NASA's Johnson Space Center, Clear Lake, until 5:15pm.

This means flash flooding is occurring in the area due to very heavy rain rates.

Houston residents should avoid low-lying areas, and not travel during periods of heavy rain.

Remember, it only take a few inches of water to float a vehicle and most flood-related deaths happen on roadways.  When you see water on the road, Turn Around, Don't Drown®.

For up-to-date weather information, visit the National Weather Service Houston/ Galveston forecast office website: weather.gov/houston.
