Fort Bend County
Missouri City City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, April 04, 2017

Missouri City City Council on Monday voted unanimously to approve a joint resolution with the Fort Bend Independent School District adopting legislative priorities for the 85th session of the Texas Legislature, including any special called sessions.

The resolution calls for supporting legislation that advances principles of local control, and legislation that updates and adequately funds the school finance system in Texas. The resolution opposes legislation that preempts or erodes authority of local government, including revenue caps and unfunded mandates.

The city council voted to adopt a joint resolution with the school district to call on the Texas Legislature to repeal the A-F performance rating system for schools and school districts.

The city council voted to reappoint Debra Champagne as Presiding Judge of the Municipal Court.

The city council voted to reappoint Robert Richter and Robert Rosenberg as Associate Judges of the Municipal Court.

The city council held a public hearing regarding the proposed Program Year 2017 Community Development Block Grant Annual Action Plan. No members of the public requested to address the city council during the hearing.

The city council voted unanimously to authorize the purchase of city fleet vehicle parts and a replacement spray truck.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
