Fort Bend County
Sugar Land City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Wednesday, April 05, 2017

Sugar Land City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to confirm the appointment of Mayor Joe Zimmerman to the Houston-Galveston Area Council General Assembly.

The city council voted to award a $3,143,900 contract to Fused Industries, LLC for the Lexington Boulevard and Highlands Section III Drainage Project.

Fused Industries submitted the lowest of 12 bids for the project. The project includes improvements to divert a large portion of the drainage in the area's watershed to a new outfall into Oyster Creek along Lexington Boulevard in order to increase the capacity of the overall drainage system.

The city council voted to authorize Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 137 to issue $2,085,000 in tax bonds.

The city council voted to award a $403,631 contract to Weisinger Incorporated for groundwater well rehabilitation.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with Council Member Bridget Yeung absent. Agenda
