Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to authorize a grant amendment with the DANY Sexual Assault Kit Backlog Elimination Grant Program to reduce the grant to a total amount of $384,371 from the original amount of $789,223.
The grant amount is being reduced in accordance with the adjusted budget submitted by the Jefferson County Regional Crime Laboratory, reflecting the findings from the inventory of backlogged sexual assault kits that was completed after the funds were awarded.
The commissioners court voted to ratify the Texas General Land Office Coastal Surface Lease for the purposes of utilizing sand source material for the McFaddin Beach Erosion Project.

The commissioners court voted to adopt a resolution recognizing William F. Miranda for his service to Jefferson County Drainage District No. 6 and wishing him well in his retirement.
