by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, April 11, 2017

Shoreacres City Council on Monday voted 3-2, with Nancy Schnell and Ron Hoskins opposed, to pay invoices from the law firm of Gregg & Gregg, PC for legal services for the city.

The city council had voted 2-1, with Jerome McKown opposed, and Ricky Bowles and David Jennings not voting, to approve all other invoices separately from the invoices of the firm.

The city council voted 4-1, with Hoskins opposed, to reconsider a resolution to refund utility reconnect fees assessed for water service disconnected on March 9. The approval overrides a veto on the item. Therefore, refunds will be given.

The city council took no action regarding discussion of the Southeast Texas Housing Finance Corporation, Affordable Housing Fund, Program 6. The item was withdrawn.

The city council voted unanimously to appoint Dana Miller to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.

The city council voted 3-2, with Schnell and Hoskins opposed, to amend the city's norms of operation.

The city council voted 2-3, with only Schnell and Hoskins voting in favor, to deny a motion to amend the city's Code of Ordinances to retain a city online messaging board.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
