Fort Bend County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to appoint Jerry Bussell as judge for Court At Law No. 4 to fill the vacancy created by the passing of Judge R. H. “Sandy” Bielstein.
County Judge Robert Hebert stated that Bussell has said he will not seek election to the office, but will serve in the interim. Listen (0:44)
The commisssioners court voted unanimously to award a $1,123,489 contract to Allgood Construction for construction of the Chimney Rock Road Extension.
The commissioners court deferred action on replats of Tamarron Trace Section 1 and Section 2 street dedications, and a partial replat of Section 11. Public hearings were held on the items. No members of the public requested to address the commissioners court regarding the items.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a request for a historic site property tax exemption for the Teague-Waddell House at 1810 Avenue M in Rosenberg.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a facility use agreement with the Garden Club of Richmond for use of the Janey Wessendorff Community Room for the storage of books, documents and other related items with historical value.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to apply for grant funding through the Office of the Attorney General, Crime Victims Service Division, for funding in the amount of $42,000 for the Victim Coordinator Liaison Grant.
The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office would contribute a $17,436 match for the grant.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the county attorney to incur litigation costs, in an amount not to exceed $20,000, in the matter of Fort Bend County vs. Westheimer Holdings, LLC, et al, as discussed in closed session.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize a settlement in the matter of Fort Bend County vs. Amegy Bank, N.A., et al, regarding Westpark Tollway Parcel 106, as discussed in closed session.
The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the county attorney to incur litigation costs, in an amount not to exceed $15,000, regarding the matter of Maurice Hood vs. Lieutenant David McKinnon, et al, as discussed in closed session.
