Houston, TX: The Texas Gulf Coast Chapter of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) is holding their Inaugural Houston Area Systems Engineering Conference on May 5, 2017 in Downtown Houston. The conference is bringing technologists from the aerospace and oil and gas industry together to collaborate and share best practices in systems engineering.  Attendees will gain insight into the business case for systems engineering from the perspectives of compliance, cost savings, reliability, and safety.

The conference features two key note speakers, Kirk Shireman, NASA International Space Station Program Manager; and Robert Patterson, Executive Vice President Engineering at Shell Global Solutions. Leaders in their prospective industries, Shireman and Patterson will offer a collaborative look at guiding the Houston area engineering community to share processes, capabilities, and lessons learned for systems engineering in both environments.

Attendees can also participate in technical sessions that compare and contrast aerospace and oil and gas experiences with Requirements Development and Management; System Architecting; Test and Verification; System Integrity; Reliability and Safety Requirements Development; and Cost Savings.
