The Galveston College Board of Regents on Wednesday voted unanimously to approve a proposal to purchase and install modern classroom technology components to develop a laboratory space for various classrooms, for a total project expenditure of $214,652.
Each classroom will be provided an 80-inch touchscreen-enabled LCD TV, a mounted personal computer, a document camera, and a lectern. The laboratory will also receive desktop computers, workstations, and other items.
The board voted unanimously to adopt proposed revisions to local board policies. The policy revisions included sections regarding business and support services, personnel, students and community and government relations.
The board voted unanimously to extend a contract with Lagniappe Dining Services for food services at the college.
The board voted unanimously to approve the reappointment of full-time faculty. (The faculty list had been changed from the list available on the college's website.)
The board took no action resulting from executive session discussions regarding possible litigation involving the National Center for Construction Education and Research certification.
