Jefferson County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to approve an interlocal agreement with the City of Nederland for assistance with various street work projects.

The county will provide labor and equipment, while the city will provide materials, for resurfacing of several streets. Listen (13:35)

The commissioners court voted unanimously to extend a contract for food service at the Jefferson County Correctional Facility with Five Star Correctional Services for 45 days. The contract will expire on July 13.

The commissioners court tabled action regarding authorization for the purchasing agent to enter into contract negotiations for development proposals for the former Texas Youth Commission property.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve recommendations from the Jefferson County Tourism Committee regarding hotel occupancy tax allocations in the amount of $5,000 for the Southeast Texas Arts Council, $4,320 to Texas Style Cool Autumn Nights and $7,500 to the Jefferson County Tourism Committee for the 10th Anniversary of the Visitors Center.

The commissioners court tabled action concerning the authorization of litigation regarding a claim of the Jefferson County Tourism Commission.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
