Student-Educator Relationship Investigated (Follow Up)

On April 18, 2017, shortly before 9:00 AM, 32-year-old Justin Michael Devera turned himself in to League City Police and was booked on the charge of Improper Relationship Between Educator/Student (Texas Penal Code 21.12). The charge is a second-degree felony and bond was set at $20,000.

League City Police Department began investigating the case when a Dickinson ISD school liaison officer reported Dickinson High School teacher Michael Devera might be involved in an improper relationship with a current Dickinson High School student. The officer reported the incident may have occurred in League City.


Student-Educator Relationship Investigated

On April 11, 2017, a report of an Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student (Texas Penal Code 21.12.) was filed with the League City Police Department by the Galveston County Sheriff’s Department School Liaison Office. The reported incident involving a 32-year-old Dickinson ISD teacher and a 17-year-old Dickinson High School student is being investigated by League City Police.
