The Hitchcock City Commission on Monday voted unanimously to approve group health, dental and life insurance for employees.

The city renewed its contract with Blue Cross Blue Shield for health policies, and Principal Financial Group for dental and life insurance. The policies came with a 9 percent reduction in premiums.
The city commission voted unanimously to adopt a proclamation designating April 20 as “Texas First Bank Day” in the city.

The city commission voted unanimously to adopt a proclamation in honor of “Safe Digging Month.”

The city commission tabled action regarding the authorization of the issuance of tax refunding bonds for Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone No. 1.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Mayor Anthony Matranga was absent. Mayor Pro Tem Randy Stricklind presided over the meeting. Agenda
