Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership Gulf Coast Big Brothers Big Sisters
Galveston County
Jamaica Beach City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, April 18, 2017

Jamaica Beach City Council on Monday voted unanimously to amend the city's Zoning Ordinance.

The ordinance was amended to match the Jamaica Beach Homeowners Association's setback guidelines to avoid variances, as the association's setbacks are on file with Galveston County.

A public hearing was held prior to consideration of the item. No members of the public addressed the council during the hearing.

The city council voted unanimously to approve and adopt the Galveston County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.

The city council voted unanimously to not permit the rental of beach umbrellas and chairs on the beachfront from Buccaneer to the eastern boundary of the beach.

The city council took no action resulting from an executive session to conduct annual evaluations of the police chief, city administrator and city secretary.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
