The Houston-Galveston Area Council Board of Directors today voted unanimously to enter into an interlocal agreement with the City of Houston for development of the Southeast Houston Mobility Plan.
The purpose of the study is to conduct a comprehensive multimodal mobility study in an area bound by Interstate 45 in the east, Interstate Loop 610 to the north, State Highway 288 in the west, and Beltway 8 to the south. Item Summary
“This is one of the series of studies that we conducted with the City of Houston looking at short-range, long-range issues with access, mobility, and safety,” said Alan Clark, H-GAC Director of Transportation Planning.
The board voted unanimously to adopt the FY17 State Homeland Security Program grant projects, as recommended by the Regional Homeland Security Coordinating Council.
The board voted unanimously to appoint members to various advisory committees.
Shannon Surbar was appointed as a member and Terry Lynch as an alternate to the Criminal Justice Advisory Committee. Mary Helen Cavazos, Dr. Valerie Segovia, Willie Alexander, Peter Beard, Mark Guthrie, Bobbie Henderson, Jeff LaBroski, Kendrick McKlesky, Janice Ruley, Richard Shaw and Evelyin Timmins were appointed to the Gulf Coast Workforce Board. Bakeyah Nelson was appointed as a member and Leticia Ablaza as an alternate to the Regional Air Quality Planning Advisory Committee.
The board voted unanimously to recognize outgoing member Mary Joyce. Joyce has served as a member of Sugar Land City Council.
