Port of Beaumont Board of Commissioners

The Port of Beaumont Board of Commissioners today voted unanimously to approve a change order to a contract between Jefferson Railport Terminal II as construction management agent and STI Group, Inc. for the 2300 Mainfold Infrastructre Project.

The project is located at the Orange County Terminal. The change order places additional earth and berms around tankage, and increased the contract by $123,239, for a total contract price of $12,222,150.

The board voted to approve a change order to a contract with Longhorn Commercial Roofing on Sheds 5, 6, and 7 Roof Repair Contract. The change order increases the contract price by $29,175 for additional work to repair deterioration around skylights at the sheds. The contract total, with the change order, is $605,689.

The board voted to amend a lease agreement with Jefferson County Terminal Logistics, LLC for property at the Orange County. The amendment includes a producer’s price index adjustment for the rent of the property.

The board voted to approve the purchase of six properties, totaling approximately $33,000, by NRG Land Resources, the port’s land acquisition consultant. Port Director and CEO Chris Fisher provided a report on the meeting. Listen (5:41)

The board met in executive session to hear a presentation regarding economic development opportunities at the Orange County Terminal, and to consult with the board’s attorney regarding pending litigation in the matter of Port of Beaumont Navigation District of Jefferson County vs. Kirk Howard McCarty. No action items were associated with the executive session.
