by Garrett Bryce
Wednesday, April 26, 2017

Brazoria County Commissioners Court on Tuesday voted unanimously to award a $97,169,719 contract to Pulice Construction, Inc. of Phoenix, Arizona, for construction of the Brazoria County Expressway.

The roadway will consist of a four-lane toll road to be built in the median of Highway 288 from County Road 58 to the Brazoria/Harris County line. The project also includes reconstruction of the FM 518 intersection, including turn lanes and adjustment of frontage roads.

“Today’s action is a culmination of years working with the Legislature, Texas Department of Transportation and the Brazoria County Toll Road Authority to alleviate traffic congestion in the 288 corridor,” County Judge Matt Sebesta said. “The managed lanes will decrease our constituent’s time on the road and allow them more time with their families.” News Release
