Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District Board of Commissioners
News Release
Wednesday, April 26, 2017

The Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District Board of Commissioners on Monday voted unanimously to authorize an additional amount of $150,000 in services for engineering, planning, designing and acquiring real estate rights related to the future Lake Charles Methanol, LLC project.

The project is proposed for south of Bulk Terminal 1 at the port, and would use petroleum coke as feedstock for producing methanol.

The board voted unanimously to authorize a settlement agreement and receive payment related to a November 3, 2016 incident caused by the Gospel Light Tug, which caused damage to Berth 6. The board will receive payments from the tug operator's insurance for repairs to the dock.

The board took no action on any items in the executive session portion of the meeting.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Commissioner Walter Sanchez was absent. Agenda
