The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County Board of Directors today voted unanimously to approve the sale of a parcel of land located at 401-417 North Main Street to the University of Houston.

Board Member Christof Spieler noted that the sale was one parcel that was part of an ongoing discussion with University of Houston concerning land.

The board voted to approve a contract with MBN Enterprises, LLC for the construction of bus stop accessibility improvements.

The board voted to approve a contract with Cummins Southern Plains, LLC for the purchase of catalyst exhaust modules.

The board voted to approve service changes for June 2017.

The board voted to approve a one-year interlocal agreement with the Greater East End Management District for the replanting of five METRO Green Light Rail Line landscaped medians and to provide for the maintenance of the landscaped areas along the rail line within the boundary of the district.

“The original landscaping that was put in apparently was not suited for Houston's climate, it all died,” Board Member Jim Robinson said. “We think this is a better approach, and it also gives community buy in to the maintenance of those areas.”

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda

During the meeting, Clint Harbert and Tanya McWashington provided an update regarding the Regional Transit Plan/Public Engagement Process. Listen (19:08)
