This Week on Stage

Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast region include “Artrageous” in Galveston and a Cinco de Mayo celebration in Houston.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will present “Artrageous” an artistic community based in Tijeras, New Mexico, on Saturday at 8 p.m.

The Artrageous Troupe of artist, musicians, singers, and dancers pays tribute to a variety of art forms, icons, and musical genres throughout the evening,” said a news release. “The result ~ a uniquely entertaining, masterpiece show culminating in a gallery of fabulous finished paintings.” News Release

Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston will host Cinco de Mayo at Miller, with Tlen-Huicani & Villablobos Brothers on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Miller Outdoor Theatre will also present “Ginkgoa” on Saturday at 8 p.m.

Playhouse 1960 in Houston will present “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged” on Friday at 8 p.m. An additional performance is on Saturday at 8 p.m. Performances continue through May 27.

The Alley Theatre in Houston continues with Arthur Miller’s “A View from the Bridge” this week.

Performances are Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m. Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and7:30 p.m. The show runs through May 21.

Upcoming performances include “Pippin”, opening May 19 at Clear Creek Community Theatre in Nassau Bay, and “Spamalot: The Musical”, opening May 12 at the Betty Greenberg Center for Performing Arts in Beaumont.
