Fort Bend County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to a approve an engagement letter with Allen Boon Humphries Robinson, LLP to serve as bond counsel for the issuance of $20 million in certificates of obligation for the construction of the Mission Bend Library, Mission Bend Community Center and Four Corners Community Center.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to appoint Mesirow Financial as placement agent for the bonds.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Mary Fishburn to waive penalty and interest totaling $287.53 on property taxes for Tax Year 2016.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Robert Hood to waive penalty and interest totaling $180.05 on property taxes for Tax Year 2016.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Barbara Edgar to waive penalty and interest totaling $147 on property taxes for Tax Year 2016.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Hardik Desai to waive penalty and interest totaling $607.33 on property taxes for Tax Year 2016.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to grant a request by Ashanth Jacob to waive penalty and interest totaling $368.52 on property taxes for Tax Year 2016.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Corbin Tubbs to waive penalty and interest totaling $1,659 on property taxes for Tax Year 2016.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Vinay Mishra to waive penalty and interest totaling $580.95 on property taxes for Tax Year 2016.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Joseph Wallace to waive penalty and interest totaling $321.04 on property taxes for Tax Year 2016.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to grant a request by Michael Robin Edwards to waive penalty and interest totaling $719.26 on property taxes for Tax Year 2016.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to deny a request by Harish Vemuri to waive penalty and interest totaling $504.36 on property taxes for Tax Year 2016.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to approve a joint election agreement with the City of Sugar Land for the May 6 election.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to amend a contract with Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. to decrease the contract by $159,990, for a total not to exceed $1,240,871 for the proposed transit facility.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the county attorney to incur litigation costs, not to exceed $20,000, in the matter of Fort Bend County vs. Jane Harwood McGall, Individually, et al, as discussed in closed session.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the county attorney to incur litigation costs, not to exceed $7,500, in the matter of Fort Bend County vs. Carole Ann McCann, Individually, et al, in connection with the Westpark Tollway Project, Phase II, Parcel 300, as discussed in closed session.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the county attorney to incur litigation costs, not to exceed $7,500, in the matter of Fort Bend County vs. Earl Newsome, et al, in connection with the Westpark Tollway Project, Phase II, Parcel 421, as discussed in closed session.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to authorize the county attorney to incure litigation costs, not to exceed $3,500, in the matter of Fort Bend County vs. James Allen Williams, et al, in connection with the Cane Island Boulevard Project, as discussed in closed session.

During the meeting, County Judge Robert Hebert recognized the county's Health and Human Services Department for its role in achieving health emergency preparedness designation through the National Association of City and County Health Officials and the Center for Disease Control. Listen (2:40)
